# Which AI Tool Can Reconcile IDX Cash Flows with Closing Cash?

An ASII FY2025 worked check combines retrieved cash-flow totals with a filing-verified exchange-rate line—and shows where automated retrieval ends.

## Direct answer

Trade Inc’s financial-series connection can supply the annual cash-flow totals and cash balances needed to start an IDX cash reconciliation. It does not remove the need to read the issuer’s statement: in our ASII check, the three activity totals did not by themselves explain the change in cash. A separately disclosed exchange-rate effect completed the reconciliation.

This buyer guide tests a specific workflow, not a stock recommendation or an automated auditing feature. It is for researchers who want to check an AI answer against opening and closing balances before relying on its explanation. Published by Trade Inc Research, affiliated with Trade Inc. Checked on 14 October 2026; the worked example uses FY2025, not current liquidity.

## Key takeaways

- Ask for both cash balances and all three cash-flow categories, with their periods and units.
- A difference is a question to investigate, not proof of bad data or missing money.
- Keep retrieved figures, your calculations and manually verified filing evidence visibly separate.
- This demonstrates the connected MCP workflow, not a dedicated website reconciliation button or universal plan entitlement.

## What capability are you buying?

The [public Trade Inc connection guide](https://tradeinc.app/en/blog/idx-research-existing-ai-tool-mcp) documents annual and quarterly financial retrieval through MCP, the standard used to connect research tools to a compatible AI workspace. Our read-only check retrieved two annual periods for ASII. The returned annual figures were in rupiah; we divided by one billion for the table below.

The useful capability is structured retrieval that preserves period labels. The arithmetic is a separate analytical step. The filing lookup is another step again. A fluent explanation should not blur those three into a claim that the product independently audited the accounts.

Access depends on your authenticated account and AI client. Confirm that the financial-series tool is available before paying specifically for this workflow. This test does not establish the features or price of every subscription.

## Worked example: reconcile ASII’s FY2025 closing cash

These are consolidated figures, in **Rp billion**. Positive activity values add cash; negative values use cash. The cash balances refer to cash and cash equivalents, not net cash after debt.

| Input or result | Value | Evidence used |
| --- | ---: | --- |
| Opening cash, 31 December 2024 | 48,439 | Retrieved annual cash field |
| FY2025 operating cash flow | +44,694 | Retrieved annual figure |
| FY2025 investing cash flow | −21,257 | Retrieved annual figure |
| FY2025 financing cash flow | −19,721 | Retrieved annual figure |
| Sum of the three activity totals | +3,716 | Our calculation |
| Exchange-rate effect | +466 | Manually checked filing line |
| Closing cash, 31 December 2025 | 52,621 | Retrieved annual cash field |

We cross-checked the activity totals against Astra’s [FY2025 presentation, page 25](https://r2.astra.co.id/financial-reports/AI%20Business%20Update%202025%20.pdf#page=25). The [consolidated financial statements, printed page 7 / PDF page 19](https://r2.astra.co.id/financial-reports/Astra%20Account%20December%202025.pdf#page=19), explicitly identify the exchange-rate effect and opening-to-closing reconciliation.

The arithmetic is reproducible:

1. Activity subtotal: **44,694 − 21,257 − 19,721 = 3,716**.
2. Balance increase: **52,621 − 48,439 = 4,182**.
3. Initial unexplained difference: **4,182 − 3,716 = 466**.
4. Completed check: **48,439 + 3,716 + 466 = 52,621**.

Stopping at step three and calling the difference an error would be premature. Equally, calling any residual “currency” without finding the line would be an unsupported explanation. Here the document supplies the missing evidence; subtraction alone does not establish its cause.

## A prompt that keeps the checks separate

Use this as a request template, not a promise that your client will complete every step automatically:

> Retrieve ASII’s FY2025 and FY2024 annual cash balances and FY2025 operating, investing and financing cash flows through Trade Inc. Preserve signs and state units. Calculate the activity subtotal and the change in cash separately. If they differ, show the residual without guessing its cause. Check the issuer’s cash-flow statement and cite the exact page for any reconciling item. Identify anything checked manually. Do not create a Screener or start a backtest.

Reject an answer that silently substitutes a quarter for the full year, mixes millions with billions, or changes the sign of an outflow. If the filing uses a different cash definition, align that definition before calculating a residual. If the source cannot be read, leave the reconciliation incomplete.

## Who needs this—and who may not

This workflow fits an analyst checking several issuers or asking follow-up questions across annual financial fields. It is particularly useful when you want an assistant to expose its inputs rather than deliver only a conclusion.

For one company and one year, opening the issuer PDF and doing the arithmetic in a spreadsheet may be sufficient. You do not need an AI subscription just to add these figures. A buyer needing a fully automated reconciliation, guaranteed field-to-filing mapping or audit assurance should not treat this demonstration as proof of those capabilities.

## A balanced check is not a verdict on liquidity

The result shows that the selected historical figures reconcile. It does not establish how much cash is freely available to the parent, whether debts can be refinanced, or what cash the business will generate next. Those questions require additional notes, restrictions and maturity information.

Our retrieval was checked on 14 October 2026; its stored financial-data fetch timestamp was 9 October 2026 at 00:01 WIB. Neither timestamp changes the FY2025 reporting period. We checked one issuer and one annual bridge, not coverage across the exchange. The exchange-rate line was verified manually, not supplied as a named field in the tested retrieval.

The buying decision is practical: choose a workflow that preserves the inputs and lets you resolve differences against a primary source. If a later filing changes the balances or a fresh retrieval no longer matches them, reopen the check rather than reuse this conclusion.
