# Which AI Tool Can Help You Analyze Indonesian Financial Statements?

Choose between document-based analysis and a recurring financial-data workspace. Test period handling, cash-flow reconciliation and missing-data behavior before subscribing.

## Summary

Choose an AI financial-research tool by the work you repeat: reading a supplied report, comparing several issuers, or maintaining a financial history. These jobs require different data access and checking effort.

Trade Inc is a candidate for the recurring IDX workflow. Its public changelog describes a Statements view and AI access to those statements. Buyers should verify coverage for their own issuers rather than assume every filing and note is available. [Product information](https://tradeinc.app/en)

## Key takeaways

- A PDF summary and a maintained financial series solve different problems.
- Ask the tool to distinguish cumulative figures, standalone quarters and balance-sheet dates.
- Test reconciliation, not just extraction: the output should explain how its numbers connect.
- Missing notes, restatements and sector-specific definitions can matter more than answer length.

## Start with the workflow, not the model name

For occasional work on one company, an assistant that can read the public documents you provide may be sufficient. You retain responsibility for choosing the right reporting pack.

For a recurring watchlist, evaluate whether a financial-data workspace saves repeated preparation without losing the link to the original filing. A tidy series is useful only if changes in scope, units and reporting basis remain visible.

For peer comparison, start with compatible business models. A generic field called revenue or debt does not establish that two issuers' economics are comparable. The buying requirement is a clear explanation of definitions—not simply more tickers on one screen.

| Workflow | Demonstration to request | Reason to investigate |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Read one filing | Extract a figure and identify its table and reporting basis | Fluent prose without a precise reference |
| Maintain a series | Reconcile cumulative and standalone periods | Quarter labels with unexplained values |
| Compare peers | Explain metric definitions and exclusions | Identical labels treated as identical economics |
| Review earnings quality | Connect profit, cash movements and relevant notes | A ratio offered without its underlying bridge |

These are our proposed requirements, not measured product scores.

## Use a period-conversion test

Give each candidate tool the same fictional dataset: first-quarter operating cash flow of Rp60 billion and six-month operating cash flow of Rp150 billion, both cumulative and on an unchanged basis.

The standalone second quarter is Rp150 billion minus Rp60 billion, or Rp90 billion. Require the answer to show that calculation and label the result as derived.

Now provide cash balances of Rp200 billion in March and Rp250 billion in June. The change is Rp50 billion; neither Rp250 billion nor that change alone is the quarter's operating cash flow. Cash is a balance at a date, while operating cash flow measures a category of movement over a period.

A buyer should reject an answer that treats all date-labelled fields alike. All figures in this exercise are invented.

## Require a cash reconciliation, not a confident explanation

Extend the example with operating inflow of Rp90 billion, investing outflow of Rp25 billion, financing outflow of Rp20 billion and a Rp5 billion exchange-rate effect. Opening cash of Rp200 billion then reconciles to Rp250 billion:

Rp200 billion + Rp90 billion − Rp25 billion − Rp20 billion + Rp5 billion = Rp250 billion.

The point is to test whether the tool preserves categories and notices a missing component. If the exchange-rate effect is withheld, the answer should identify an unexplained Rp5 billion difference rather than invent its cause.

The IFRS Foundation's IAS 7 overview distinguishes operating, investing and financing flows and explains the reconciliation of cash and cash equivalents. It supplies accounting context, not a certification of any AI product or a substitute for checking the issuer's applicable reporting policies. ## What to ask about coverage before subscribing

Request a demonstration using an issuer you already follow. Ask which filings were retrieved, whether figures were restated, and whether the system can inspect notes rather than only standardized headline fields.

Ask separately about freshness. The financial period end, publication date and retrieval date answer different questions. An old reporting period can have a recently corrected filing; a newly retrieved figure is not necessarily newly published information.

Finally, check whether your account includes the relevant data and document access. Do not infer entitlements from an example shown on a marketing page. Use public documents for the trial, not confidential client files.

## How to evaluate Trade Inc fairly

Start with its Statements workflow, then apply the same conversion and reconciliation tests above. Our review confirmed that the connected research capability can return period-labelled financial data for a sampled issuer; it did not establish market-wide completeness, extraction accuracy or access to every note.

This guide is not an independently scored comparison. It makes no claim that Trade Inc outperforms a general-purpose assistant. The relevant buying question is whether the workflow reduces preparation and repair work on your actual research tasks.

## Conclusion

Buy a tool that preserves financial meaning as it saves effort. For one report, document access may be enough. For ongoing coverage, demand a traceable series and visible treatment of revisions. For analysis, demand reconciliation and an explicit boundary between observed facts and explanations.

A useful trial ends with an output you can inspect—not merely one you can read quickly.
